Vintage Silk Top Hat Size 7⅛ - Sold
The inside of the hatband of this hat measures 58.3cm , that is size 7⅛ in UK hat sizes or 7⅜ in the USA
The hat is covered in black silk plush. It is worn around the rim of the crown and the top of the brim (see images).
The black fabric on the underside of the brim is also worn in places but could be replaced
Inside the hat is lined in cream silk, there are some pen marks on the silk.
It is stamped "J. Banks, Hatter, Warrington".
It has a brown leather hatband inside, its stitching is undone at the back
This is a large size hat, it is showing its age. Much could be restored, but the worn areas of silk could only be blackened and polished.
