This oak rack is beautifully made and would be a handsome addition to an entrance hall.
I have seen similar examples described as Georgian but I suspect this one comes from the first part of the 20th Century, the heyday of foxhunting in England.
It has a square base with circular turned decoration and round "bun" feet.
The central pillar also has turned decoration.
The first stage has cut out slots for four pairs of boots.
The turned pillar continues above this stage, leading to eight pegs for whips.
There is a turned finial on top.

The rack can be unscrewed at its centre join, for ease of moving and packing.
