A 14th / 15th Century Rowel Spur with Buckle - Sold

A Mediaeval spur in excavated condition,
This spur has a six-pointed star-shaped rowel which is fixed in position.
It has a short neck which points down. The arms of the spur are quite deeply curved to pass below the rider's ankle bone.
There are openings at the ends of the arms, on one side there is a circular hole in the lateral side of the arm, on the other arm there is a vertical slot.
A rounded buckle survives.
