Pair of Antique Silver Spurs by Candido Silva
View BasketThese heavy spurs are made of silver.
The heel bands and necks have fluted or dragooned decoration.
They have many pointed steel rowels which still turn freely, there is a little surface oxidation on the rowels.
Each heel band ends in a button, the outer button on each spur is shaped as a flower.
The spurs have chains which fasten with a clip with floral decoration.
Both spurs are stamped "Co.Silva, the mark of Candido Silva.
Candido Silva was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1817 and move to Buenos Aires around 1830.
