This whip has a silver cap which is engraved "R.R.L". It is hallmarked London 1919 and stamped "E.N", the mark of Ebenezer Newman & Company of Leonard Street, London EC.
There are a few small dents in the silver.
The shaft is made from a bull's pizzle or penis, it is still a little flexible.
Sadly it has been damaged in the past - I suspect chewed by a dog. There are a few probable teeth marks about two-thirds of the way down the length of the whip and a 4 inch or 10cm length has been bound in catgut -
I cannot feel any breaks or movement under this, but I cannot see the extent of any damage.
This makes this whip interesting as a curiosity or display piece, but probably not suitable for use.
Dimensions : Length 31" (78.5cm)
