This short whip has a staghorn handle, which is stamped "Griffith's, London".
Griffith's were recorded as whip makers at 322, Holborn in the early 19th Century. Interestingly James Swaine, later of Swaine & Isaac (later Swaine & Adeney) was apprenticed to Benjamin Griffith.
There is a working whistle in the handle.
The whip has a braided thread collar.
The short stock is made of golden brown malacca cane
The whip ends in a brass ferrule with a loop for the attachment of a thong
