A fascinating old miliner's tool. I have one of these which I use as a hatstand
It is made of two pieces of turned & shaped red-brown coloured elm, sitting on a curved base.
A thick double ended screw connects the two halves, and they can be moved by twisting the handle at the front. There are two guide bars to stop the pieces twisting
There is a worn black paper at the front which marks hat sizes from 6 to 7½ (50 to 61cm)
This was a working tool, there are areas of rubbing on the wood, and the plating on the handle has worn. It still works well and the mechanism turns smoothly.
Dimensions 14" (35.5cm) tall x 11" (28cm) long x 7" (18cm) wide. It is heavy and will have to be shipped by courier.
Please ask for any other measurements that you require
