An antique steel bit, the surface appears to be plated or tinned.
This has a jointed snaffle mouthpiece. There is a link on each bit ring, which attaches to a T bar.
The mouthpiece is stamped "F.Eglington" and "1945", there are some other marks - possibly part of a broad arrow ?
The bars slot through the lower ends of the bridle cheekpieces.
These pieces allow the bit to be detached from the bridle, for feeding or watering.
The design is commonly used with military bridles.
