A Wilson or four ring driving snaffle bit.
The cheekpieces would attach to one bit ring, and the reins to the other - increasing the severity of the bit, although they can be used with two sets of reins so that one set gives a normal snaffle action.
The mouthpiece is jointed and stamped "Nickel Alloy ....England"
