This whip has a staghorn handle with crossed carved on its upper and lower surfaces for grip.
It has a silver collar which is stamped "T.C.& Co" and hallmarked Birmingham 1933. This is the silversmith's stamp of Chetland & Co who were makers of whip and stick mounts registered in Birmingham from around 1899 . There are several small dents and dings on the collar. The stock or shaft is covered in braided leather. One strand near the keeper is scuffed, please lok at the images It has a replacement stitched leather keeper and a thong with a red cord lash. The thong has a bound repair at its end.
