These spurs have quite long curved swan or goose necks. Each spur has a smooth round rowel stamped "Smith & Wright, Birm", Smith & Wright were a company of button makers in the mid to late 19th Century, they were later taken over by Firmin. They have have steel studs on the end of each arm of the heel band. A buckle is suspended from the outer stud of each spur. Both of the original double linked chains and one of their original straps and lace or boot guards remains . The inside of each spur is stamped "Solid Nickel".
