Pair of Vintage Chilean Huaso Spurs - Sold
These South American spurs date from the mid-twentieth century.
They have large many pointed steel rowels with a "russet" patina.
These were working spurs, not tourist souvenirs, a couple of the spokes of the rowels are bent and the central hole of each rowel have worn from use.
The bodies of the spurs are made of a silver coloured metal, probably a nickel alloy or alpacca.
They have cast, punched and engraved decoration.
Each arm of the spur ends in two slots for the spur straps. The slots are surrounded by raised "beads", one of these is missing
They have their original decorated spur straps.
There are no maker's marks or stamps
