A single 19th Century Mexican spur
In his book "Eperons de tous les temps tous les pays" Georges Nabera-Sartoulet describes this style of spur as "called Louis XIV" because of the king's influence on South America's spurs.
The spur is made of iron or steel with a dark finish
Each arm of the heel band ends in a loop with cast decoration.
The spur has a small heelplate with a scallopped edge/
The neck is pierced with the characteristic kidney shape seen in Mexican spurs.
The rowel has seven points and still turns freely
