These shoe shaped stirrups are made of bronze with a dark patina.
They come from South America.
They are known as "Conquistador" stirrups, but they actually date from the 19th or early 20th Century.
The shape would protect the rider's feet from injury.
Each has cast decoration in the form of a stylised bow on its front and a strap and shell pattern on each side.
There is one triangular drainage hole in the base of each stirrup.
They are smaller than many examples, but they are heavy with various old repairs (see images) so thay have been much used
