This whip has a staghorn or antler hook shaped handle.
It has two silver collars with deep repoussé foliate decoration and a shield engraved "Ethel Mordey, Jesmond, Newport, Mon.".
It is hallmarked Birmingham 1896 and has the silversmith's stamp "WS".
The rest of the flexible stock or shaft is covered in braided linen or hemp.
It has its original open leather keeper or loop at its end.
