1911 Silver Collared Gent's Hunting Whip by Swaine & Adeney
View BasketThis whip has an antler or staghorn handle with a silver button on the heel which is stamped "Swaine & Adeney, London"
It has two silver collars, the one nearest to the staghorn is hallmarked London 1911 (the hallmark is quite rubbed) and stamped with the silversmith's mark "E.S.A" and the name "Swaine"
It is engraved with the initials "D.N.H."
There are a few small dents in the silver.
Between the collars the shaft or stock is covered in dark tan leather with a finely stitched seam.
There is a half inch worn area of leather on one side of the grip, which exposes the braided thread beneath.
The rest of the stock or shaft is covered in braided linen or hemp.
The whip has a good replacement stitched bridle leather keeper.
