This whip has a staghorn handle. There is a silver button on the heel of the staghorn which is stamped "Swaine & Adeney Ltd. London".
There is a crown shaped "gatepusher" in the top of the handle. It has a silver collar with ribbed edges, this is stamped "Swaine" and hallmarked London 1928. The collar is engraved "Mary Gatehouse from F.H. 1929" .
The stock or shaft is covered in brown braided leather.
It has its original stitched leather keeper and a braided leather thong with a loop at its end and a red cord lash
