This long slim whip has a staghorn hook shaped handle. It has two silver collars, both are hallmarked Birmingham 1929 and syamped "G & J Z". The upper collar is also stamped "Whalebone" and "G. & J. Zair Makers". Between the collars the grip of the whip is covered in dark tan leather with a finely stitched seam. The rest of the long tapering whalebone shaft is covered in braided thread. The whip has the remains of its original vellum and silk lash at its end
