This whip has a heavy steel hooked handle with a dark patina There is a crown shaped gatepusher stud on the top of the handle. It has a silver collar stamped "Swaine" and hallmarked London 1934. There are a few small dents in the collar.
The stock or shaft is made of varnished rustic wood, possibly ash. It has a replacement stitched leather keeper or tongue at its end It is remarkably well balanced considering its heavy handle
