This bit came from the house of a member of he Habsburg family in the Austro-Hungarian empire. It is made of steel. The hollow mouthpiece is gently arched and narrows in the middle. A tight seam is visible on its underside. The cheeks are straight. Each cheek bears a lip strap loop and a separate curb rein ring,. The bit still has its original curb hooks. It has a beautiful hand forged heavy steel curb chain whose links graduate in size. There are no maker's marks or stamps.
