This is a stainless steel curb bit - it is missing the top loop on its right cheek so cannot be used.
The straight mouthpiece can rotate. It is stamped "A.X.E" on one side and "SBM" and "Stainless Steel" on the other.
The ends of the mouthpiece pass through slots in the long cheeks. This allows the mouthpiece to move up and down slightly and the cheeks can rotate independently.
The cheeks are curved, each bears a curb rein loop.
There are brass cheek badges or bosses on each side of the bit. These are decorated with a lion over a Queen's crown surruounded by the words "Peninsula" and "Waterloo". Both are slightly bent
