A pigskin case which fastens with two press studs.
It is embossed "Swaine & Adeney, London"
In the 1933 Swaine & Adeney catalogue this item is described as
No.A300 Hunting Companion, containing two boot pulls, two jockey lifts combination shoe horn and button hook, in best pigskin folding case,.. £2 s.7 & 6d" Depending on the comparison method used this is equivalent to £400-800 today. There are some old stains and scuffs on the outer flap.
It opens to reveal two flaps, each containing a boot jockey or slide - these are stamped "Maxwell, Dover St.", there is a little pitting to their plating in places,
There is a pocket for a combination shoe horn and button hook, again the platinfg is worn in places.
Behind the shoe horn there are two pockets, each containing a boot hook with a flattened ivorine handle.

Length of case : 10¼" (26cm) x width 4¼" (11cm) when closed.
