This large bit has a half twisted or reversible mouthpiece with a low central port. The mouthpiece is stamped "Handforged Steel" and "J.H." with a broad ordnance arrow, indicating military use. The cheeks can turn, one cheek is stamped "Robson Cooper" and the other "York". Robson & Cooper were a company of saddlers founded in York in 1840 who closed in 2015. This bit has some surface oxidation but could be burnished back to a shine.
