A Red Throat Plume or Beard for an Officer's Horse - Cav033

This is a plume of grey horsehair which has been dyed red.
It is suspended from a brass globe decoration.
It is in very good condition
I believe it would have been worn under the throat of an officer's charger, but I do not know which regiment

Measurements :
Horsehair : approx 18 inches (46cm) long,
Brass socket 1¾ inches (4cm) diameter

Weight  6½oz (184g)
