The mouthpiece is faintly stamped "Best Steel" and Jermyn Street" The cheeks are curved, each bears a rein loop, there is no shackle bar. There is an round silver coloured cheek boss surmounted by a St. Edward's crown on each side of the bit. In the centre of each cheek badge there is a curved horn, surrounding this there is a garter which reads "Rifle Brigade".
The bit has its original curb hooks and a curb chain, one of the curb hooks is missing its tip
