This steel curb bit has long turning cheeks. It has a straight half-twisted or reversible mouthpiece. Both cheeks are stamped "Whippy & Co". Whippy Steggall & Co was established in 1790 and had a shop on Oxford Street until the 1940's. The bit has its original curb hooks and chain.
