This is an African whip made of carved and rolled hide.
This design would have been used for herding cattle and possibly as a weapon.
The shaft or stock is flrxible and very pale
The handle is rigid and has a wooden core covered in bands of woven copper and brass wire typical of the Shona or Zulu people, this shows some surface oxidation and traces of old metal polish.
