African Tribal Hide Whip or Sjambok or Litupa - w1769

This African whip dates from the late 19th or early 20th Century.

It would have been used for herding cattle and possibly as a weapon.

The shaft or stock is made of rolled hide 
It is long and tapered.

There is a leather wrist strap which passes through a channel at the top
