This saddle is constructed from several pieces of wood joined by rawhide ties (on the seat these have been replaced with wire).

The outer surfaces of the front and rear bows are covered in shagreen or ray skin, this has worn in places.
There are also bands of silver decoration on the front and rear bows. One silver band remains on one of the fans at the front of the saddle,
The saddle has a pair of finely cast iron stirrups, each has a pair of dragons around its suspension loop and geometric decoration around its oval base.
