An Antique Hand Forged In-Hand Heavy Horse Bit - Bit1039

This old bit probably dates from the 19th century, it has a dark aged patina with a little surface oxidation.

A thick leather large headpiece is stitched onto the loops of the mouthpiece
The straight mouthpiece is covered in leather.

The mouthpiece can rotate within the iron part below the bit, there is a rope attached to this part

There are no identifying marks.
