A Hanoverian Pelham bit ( I wrote a short blog about theseHERE). It is made from steel, with a dark aged patina The bit has a medium port which is hinged, its joints still move freely. There are six cherry rollers, which all turn. One cheek is stamped "Steel" and Williams". The other is partly stamped "... & Co" and "Tavistock"
The bit has both its original curb hooks and the remains of a lip strap
