This steel curb bit has fine turning cheeks with unusual ribs or cuffs to limit the sliding of the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece has a low port. It is stamped "Whippy & Co". Whippy & Co. were a famous company of saddlers founded in 1790, they were taken over by Champion & Wilton in 1947. The bit has its original curb hooks and chain. It is in good condition and could be burnished to a shine.
