A branch cheek steel bit. It has a low port. The cheeks are curved, each bears a rein loop, there is a curved shackle bar. There is an round gilt brass cheek boss surmounted by a Queen's crown on each side of the bit. In the centre of each cheek badge there is a thistle, a rose and a shamrock, surrounding these there is a garter which reads "Infantry Mounted Officers". There is a maker's stamp in the middle of the port, but it is difficult to read
