This long horn is made of copper with a brass neck and a nickel silver mouthpiece that can unscrew .
The flared bell of the horn is stamped :
"Callow & Son 8 Park Lane London"
The horn is in good condition for its age, there are a few dents and dings in the metal. There is one spot of solder on the seam two thirds of the way along its length.
It sounds well
It has a dark brown leather case with two keepers and old buckled straps, the circular base is coming unstitched. It has lost the rolled leather strap that would have passed over the opening.
Both horn and case have bowed slightly - probably because they have been hung horizontally in the same position on a wall for some years and sagged under their own weight. A new owner could try hanging the other way to correct this,
