This is a small saddle constructed from several pieces of wood.. the front arch is a little loose
The outer surfaces of the front and rear bows are covered in sheets of bone. Some pieces of bone are missing. The seat is covered in leather, this is rather dry and has split behind the front arch where the wood is loose. There is a piece missing on the right side.
The saddle has several leather straps. Some of these have buckles and keepers with niello decoration
It would have been used with a thick butterfly shaped leather cushion on the seat
