Antique Curb Bit - Bit969

This is an old curb bit.

It was originally plated with a silver coloured metal (? nickel or tin ?)

Most of this has worn away, exposing the steel beneath.

Th mouthpiece has a low port.

The fixed cheeks curve backwards. They have  loops for a lip strap and lower rings for the curb reins.
There are no maker's marks or stamps
