This is a hand forged steel or iron slipper stirrup frame for use with a sidesaddle.
It has a dark russet, aged patina with a little surface pitting.
It would originally have been covered in leather (some leather remains on part of the arch). The toe would have been enclosed in leather. It has a shaped footplate that pivots within the arch of the stirrup. The arch itself has a suspension loop on top.
There are no maker's marks or stamps
