This is a small saddle constructed from several pieces of wood joined by rawhide ties.
The outer surfaces of the front and rear bows are covered in red lacquer, this has worn in places. There are bands of iron around the edges of the pommel and cantle. The wood of the seat has a good patina, there is a band of black lacquer or paint on the front and back edges of the seat.
There is some green lacquer in the gullet on the underside of the saddle
