Brass Sidesaddle Slipper Stirrup - Stirrup418

This is an old brass slipper stirrup for use with a sidesaddle.

It is South American, possibly from Peru
It has a shaped footplate with a circular hole in it.
The enclosed toe has a thick suspension loop on top.

The stirrup was constructed in two parts and has soldered seams on each side of the toe

There are no maker's marks or stamps

Dimensions : Maximum  Width 3½" (9cm), height 3" (7.5cm), length of tread 7½" (19cm)
