This blind for a carriage window is probably French and dates from the first quarter of the 19th Century.
The fabric is dark green watered silk with a pale stripe down each edge and a matching green fringe.
Its roller is housed in a rectangular wooden box veneered in golden brown kingwood.
The box has gilded decorative mounts on each end and gilt brass decoration on all edges.
The lower part of the blind holds a rod with gilt acorn finials.
It is in very good condition for its age, the stitching has opened a little at one end of the fringe and a small area of veneer has lifted slightly on the top left hand corner
