Antique Twisted Whalebone Ladies Riding Whip or Crop - w1783

This very fine whalebone whip has a braided thread cap and two similar knops or collars. 

The grip is twisted and wrapped in baleen or whalebone. Some of this wrapping is damaged but has been stabilised with lacquer.

The long slim shaft is covered in dark brown braided thread
The whip has lost the silk lash at its end, this could be replaced.
