An old steel ring bit with a dark patina and some russet surface oxidation. This severe mouthpiece with its high port and ring that acts as a curb is also known as a "Mameluke" bit. The short cheeks are curved in a sigmoid shape. The bit has loops on the lower parts of the cheeks with heavy rein rings
