This is a first edition of this book, published by F.H. & G. Witherby in 1931. Its is a hardback with a blue cloth cover, the spine is a little faded and stained
There is a bookplate and an owner's (Sir Dymock White) pencil inscription on the inside front cover. The text covers the development of the thoroughbred, other English horse breeds, selection of sires, diseases, stallion management and a section on other books There are 7 black & white plates of famous horses.
There is some light foxing throughout the book
