This canteen has a tan coloured leather case.
There are a few marks and spots on its front, the stitching is good.
It closes with a billet fastening,
The case has a shoulder strap and a belt loop on its reverse side. The shoulder strap has a little surface crackling but is still flexible and stable, it can be adjusted with a steel buckle.
It is lined in cream doeskin or chamois and has an internal partition.
There are some holes and a tear in the lining on the flask side of the lining
Inside there is a rectangular flask, with a silver plated screw cap.
The top of the cap has many small dings and dents
There is also a double hinged sandwich tin, stamped inside "EP, J.D. & S" and "916M" and has the trumpet and banner mark of Dixon & Sons. Its plating is in good condition
This case could be carried on a day's shooting or as a second horseman's canteen.
