This very fine whip has a gold coloured cap and collar with foliate decoration. The collar has a blank oval cartouche which could have been engraved The cap also has a ring to hold a wrist cord or chain. Between the cap and collar, the grip is covered in finely braided cream baleen or whalebone, there are two small defects in this braiding . The long slim shaft is covered in brown braided thread The whip has a replacement lash at its end..
