This is a pair of steel spurs dating from the 19th Century. There are hooks or spikes at the end of each arm which wrap around the heel of the boot. They have detachable straight necks and small many pointed rowels which still turn freely. These necks are continuous with a spike that would be driven into the back of the boot heel. The neck and spike can unscrew from the rest of the spur, which would allow the spur to be removed. They are in good condition and could be burnished to a shine.
