This is a pair of steel spurs dating from the early 1800's.
They are silver plated, although the plating has worn away in several places, exposing the dark steel beneath.

The heel bands are much finer and thinner than those seen on later spurs (please see the image that compares them to a ictorian spur by Maxwell)
There are hooks or spikes at the end of each arm which wrap around the heel of the boot.
They have straight necks and small many pointed rowels which still turn freely.
These necks are continuous with a spike that would be driven into the back of the boot heel.

Internal width 5.6cm (approx 2¼"), neck 4cm (1½"), rowel 1.5cm (⅜")
Weight : 30g (1oz)

Ref : spur526j
