These nickel spurs have short downward turning necks necks. Each spur has a small many pointed steel rowel that still turns. They are asymmetric, the outer arm of the heel band is longer than the inner. They have have steel studs on the end of each arm of the heel band. These were originally nickel plated, but some of the plating has worn away and the surface of the underlying steel is dark and has some surface oxidation. A rounded buckle is suspended from the outer stud of each spur, again the plating of these has worn, allowing some rusting, but they still work and could be polished. The inside of each spur is stamped "Maxwell, Dover St., London".
