A single 19th Century Latin American spur In his book "Eperons de tous les temps tous les pays" Georges Nabera-Sartoulet describes this style of spur as "called Louis XIV" because of the king's influence on South America's spurs. The spur is made of steel with a good patina Each arm of the heel band ends in a pierced loop.
There is a line of cast decoration on the heel bands. The spur has a large heelplate with a scallopped edge. The neck is pierced with the characteristic kidney shape. The large rowel has twelve sharp points and still turns freely
