Small Pair of Nickel Spurs in Leather Case - Spur498
Small Pair of Nickel Spurs in Leather Case - Spur498
At first sight these spurs might appear to be military or campaign issue, but they are very small for an adult.
They have a tan soft leather folding case.
Inside it is stamped "Peal & Co,487 Oxford Street, London"
The stamp is rather blurred, but Peal were famous makers of military & hunting boots & they used this address between 1886 and 1958.
Inside the case there is a small pair of silver coloured nickel spurs - probably for a child.
They have medium length necks with bulbous ends and small many pointed rowels.
The spurs have steel studs and buckles for the attachment of straps.
These studs are silver plated, the plating is raher tarnished and chipped.
They are stamped "Solid Nickel" inside the heel band.
10cm (4")long, 5.7cm (2¼")wide internally, neck length 2.7cm (1")
